THE GENERAL SAFETY REQUIREMENT OF PRODUCTS
To protect their health and safety, theCommunity legislation provides that producers are obliged to market only safe products. Directive 2001/95/EC states that “producer” means not only the product manufacturer, but also:
- When the manufacturer representative is not established in the Community
- The product importer when there is no represntative established in the Community
- Other professionals in the production chain
- Tthe distributor.
